A law firm in Seattle, WA, is seeking an Associate Attorney to work across three departments, providing a unique opportunity to gain diverse legal experience and collaborate closely with the firm’s partners. The role requires a combination of civil litigation, business law, and trademark law experience, with the ideal candidate having 3-5 years of legal experience. The successful candidate will need strong legal writing, research skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects independently and as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Department Collaboration: Work with all three departments within the firm, receiving training and guidance from the partners of each department.
  • Legal Research: Conduct detailed legal research to support litigation and transactional matters, ensuring accurate and comprehensive legal analysis.
  • Drafting: Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and other legal instruments for civil litigation, business law, and trademark law cases.
  • Case Management: Manage a diverse range of legal matters, ensuring deadlines are met and priorities are handled efficiently.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates, gather information, and offer legal advice.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other attorneys and staff to ensure cases are handled efficiently and client needs are met.
  • Independent Work: Handle legal matters independently while maintaining high standards of work quality and attention to detail.
  • Court Representation: Appear in court as needed, representing clients in civil litigation matters.
  • Contract and Business Law: Advise clients on business law matters and assist with the protection and enforcement of trademark rights.

Requirements

  • Bar Admission: Must be licensed to practice law in Washington State.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience as an attorney, with at least 1 year of civil litigation experience and 1 year of business law or trademark law experience.
  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple cases and shifting priorities.
    • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
