Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a motivated Family Law Associate Attorney to join its team. This position is an excellent opportunity for a new attorney (0-3 years of experience) to gain hands-on experience in family law while working within a supportive and collaborative environment. The attorney will be involved in a wide range of family law cases, including divorce, custody, and support matters, while providing compassionate counsel to clients.

Location:

  • Saint Paul, MN

Duties:

  • Handle a variety of family law cases, including divorce, custody, child support, spousal maintenance, property division, and post-decree issues
  • Provide compassionate legal counsel during emotionally charged and complex family law matters
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Represent clients in court, at mediation sessions, and during settlement negotiations
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and paralegals to ensure optimal outcomes for clients
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in Minnesota family law

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Minnesota State Bar (or pending)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated interest in family law, through coursework, internships, or prior experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or internships in family law
  • Comfort with alternative dispute resolution processes, such as mediation and Early Neutral Evaluations (SENE/FENE)
