Privacy Litigation Associate

A law firm seeks a dynamic and driven mid-level associate to join its expanding Privacy Litigation team in Los Angeles. This is an exciting opportunity for a litigator with a strong background in privacy law to take on significant responsibilities and contribute to a growing practice. The ideal candidate will have a deep interest in privacy-related legal issues and be ready to manage complex litigation matters from start to finish.

Duties:

• Take ownership of all phases of privacy-related litigation cases, from initial research to trial preparation.
• Draft a variety of legal documents, including complaints, pretrial motions, discovery requests, briefs, and memoranda.
• Conduct in-depth legal research on privacy laws at the federal, state, and international levels.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to strategize and implement case plans.
• Assist in trial preparation, including preparing witnesses and filing motions.
• Keep abreast of evolving privacy laws and advise clients on new legal developments.
• Foster a collaborative team environment by mentoring junior associates and maintaining client relationships.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, with a preference for candidates with a focus on privacy law.
• Proven experience managing case elements such as drafting motions, briefs, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to understand and apply complex legal concepts.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with an emphasis on teamwork.
• Active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in the jurisdiction where the firm practices.
