Position Title: Criminal Defense Associate Attorney

Job Overview
A prestigious law firm based in Dallas, TX, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Criminal Defense Associate Attorney with at least five years of experience in Texas Criminal Law. This role offers an opportunity to manage a diverse caseload from inception to trial, work collaboratively with a legal team, and provide comprehensive legal advice and representation to clients in criminal defense matters.

Duties

  • Represent clients in court, handling a personal docket from case initiation through trial
  • Prepare and draft pleadings, pretrial motions, and other legal documents
  • Advise clients on litigation matters and review discovery thoroughly to determine effective defense strategies
  • Negotiate settlements and advocate for favorable outcomes
  • Conduct trial preparations, including briefing and legal research
  • Engage in robust legal research and apply strong analytical abilities to case strategies

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Texas Criminal Law
  • Active and valid Bar License in Texas

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active Texas State Bar License (required)
