A law firm in Washington, D.C., is seeking a Mid-Level Associate Attorney with 4+ years of relevant experience, including government contracts, Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) matters, and Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI) work. The ideal candidate must possess a high level of academic achievement and excellent writing skills.

 

Duties:

  • Handle legal matters related to government contracts, including compliance, disputes, and contract negotiations.
  • Provide legal support and advice on DCSA matters, including security clearances and compliance with DCSA requirements.
  • Manage FOCI mitigation and compliance issues, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and guidelines.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and compliance reports.
  • Conduct legal research and provide analysis on complex legal issues related to government contracts and national security.
  • Advise clients on legal and regulatory issues, providing strategic counsel to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to develop and implement legal strategies.
  • Represent clients in administrative hearings and other legal proceedings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service and effective communication.

 

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in government contracts, DCSA, and FOCI work.
  • High level of academic achievement and strong writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters and provide strategic counsel.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active membership in the D.C. Bar or eligibility for admission.
