A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Mid-Level Litigation Attorney licensed to practice law in California with substantial experience in employment law matters, including wage and hour, PAGA (Private Attorneys General Act), and FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act). The ideal candidate will have prior experience in employment litigation, including trial and mediation, and will be responsible for managing cases, conducting substantive interviews, and handling court appearances.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct substantive witness interviews and client consultations.
  • Manage all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
  • Regularly appear in court and defend motions.
  • Draft dispositive motions, including demurrers, anti-SLAPP motions, motions for judgment, and motions for summary judgment.
  • Handle case management responsibilities, ensuring deadlines are met and cases move forward efficiently.
  • Represent clients in mediation and other alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status and strategy.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing of the State Bar of California.
  • 5+ years of experience in employment law matters, with a focus on wage and hour, PAGA, and FLSA cases.
  • Prior experience in employment litigation, including trial experience as first or second chair.
  • Strong analytical and legal research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively.
  • Experience in the public sector is advantageous.
