A law firm in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Labor and Employment Attorney to work alongside attorneys handling a diverse range of labor and employment matters, including administrative and court litigation tasks, advice and counsel, investigations, policy drafting, and traditional labor issues. The ideal candidate should possess clear communication skills, persuasive writing abilities, and at least 1 year of Labor & Employment law experience.

Duties:

  • Assist attorneys in handling labor and employment administrative tasks, including proceedings before agencies such as the EEOC and NLRB.
  • Support litigation tasks, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs for court proceedings.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on labor and employment matters.
  • Conduct investigations into workplace disputes and alleged violations of employment laws.
  • Draft and review employment policies and procedures.
  • Handle traditional labor law matters, including collective bargaining agreements and union-related issues.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Meet the annual hours' expectation of 1750 hours.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Ohio Bar is required.
  • Admission to other Bar jurisdictions, particularly California and New York, is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Labor & Employment law.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong persuasive writing skills.
  • Experience in fact investigation is preferred.
