Job Overview: A law firm specializing in immigration law is seeking a dedicated Immigration Attorney to join their team in Miami, FL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal counsel and representation to clients navigating various immigration issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Stay updated on all legal developments affecting immigration laws and policies.
  • Formulate innovative legal strategies to represent clients in immigration matters effectively.
  • Draft motions, review cases, file applications, and prepare briefs and legal memorandums.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies.
  • Develop comprehensive legal strategies for client cases, covering asylums, removal proceedings, family-based filings, naturalization, consular processing, VAWA applications, and waivers.
  • Interpret statutes and effectively advocate in immigration court proceedings.
  • Fluent in Spanish to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clients.
  • Demonstrate empathy and dedication to finding legal solutions for clients.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case progress.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently and meet deadlines consistently.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida State Bar or eligible for admission via reciprocity.
  • Experience practicing immigration law, focusing on asylums, removal proceedings, family-based applications, and other relevant areas.
  • Proven track record of successful case outcomes in immigration matters.
  • Strong understanding of immigration laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with I-212/I-601A waivers and other immigration relief applications.
  • Proficiency in legal software and research tools.

Certifications:

  • Certification from the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) is a plus.
