A law firm seeks a skilled and experienced Real Estate Partner to join its team. This fully remote position is tailored for a seasoned attorney with at least 8 years of experience focusing on commercial real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of expertise in areas such as development, acquisitions, financing, commercial leasing, and real estate investment. A self-sufficient, portable client base generating at least $250,000 annually is required.

Duties:

  • Lead and manage complex real estate transactions, including development, acquisition, disposition, and financing.
  • Advise clients on commercial leasing matters, including office and retail spaces.
  • Work with a range of property types, including multi-family, hotels, and apartment complexes.
  • Handle transactions related to Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), joint ventures, and debt restructurings.
  • Negotiate and draft property management and brokerage agreements.
  • Represent clients in various real estate matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage client relationships, providing strategic counsel and solutions for complex real estate issues.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial real estate law, with significant experience leading transactions.
  • Proven ability to handle a diverse range of real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and leasing.
  • Experience working at a prestigious law firm (AmLaw 200 or similar) or equivalent experience in a top-tier practice.
  • A portable client base generating at least $250,000 annually, or a strong business development plan with growth potential.
  • Knowledge of real estate investment structures, including joint ventures and REITs, is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. state (preferably Texas).

Skills:

  • Strong expertise in commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing.
  • Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills for complex real estate agreements.
  • Ability to lead real estate deals from inception to closing, ensuring a smooth process for all parties.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships, with a focus on providing value-added legal counsel.
  • High level of experience in managing multifaceted real estate transactions across various asset classes.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation, with the ability to operate effectively in a remote work environment.
