Job Overview

A distinguished law firm is seeking a highly experienced Senior Estate Planning Attorney to join its team in Irvine, CA. The position involves managing all stages of estate planning and trust administration, advising high-net-worth clients on wealth transfer strategies, and collaborating with a team to deliver exceptional legal services.

Location

Duties

  • Manage all stages of estate planning and trust administration.
  • Conduct client intake and provide ongoing client management.
  • Draft, review, and modify estate planning documents, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, advanced directives, and funding documents.
  • Advise on wealth transfer and asset protection strategies for high-net-worth clients.
  • Implement strategies for minimizing estate and income tax liabilities and mitigating risk.
  • Apply knowledge of Proposition 13 and related statutes concerning real property transfers.
  • Prepare and review technical memoranda on estate tax issues.
  • Handle complex estate planning matters in consultation with the estate planning team.
  • Research client issues, analyze options, and propose effective courses of action.
  • Supervise and review the work of paralegals and legal assistants.
  • (Preferred) Represent clients in court appearances.
  • Evaluate fraudulent transfer and voidable transaction issues related to estate planning.
  • (Preferred) Provide assistance with corporate matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in estate planning and trust administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in corporate matters and court appearances is advantageous.
  • Foreign language skills are a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills

  • Strong drafting and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with Proposition 13 and related real property statutes.
  • Effective team collaboration and client management abilities.
  • Supervisory skills to manage paralegal and assistant work.
