Duties:

  • Defend and prosecute cases for government clients in areas including tort, real estate, local prosecutions, administrative review, injunctive relief, construction, environmental law, contract disputes, civil rights, labor and employment, and employment discrimination
  • Handle matters in both federal and state court
  • Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and trials
  • Work with clients to develop case strategies and provide legal counsel
  • Draft and review legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery requests
  • Attend administrative agency hearings, with a focus on workers' compensation and other regulatory matters

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of litigation experience
  • Experience in defending and prosecuting cases for public entity clients
  • Strong background in federal and state court litigation
  • Knowledge of workers' compensation and administrative agency practice is a plus
  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar
