A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Employment & Labor Attorney to join its practice group in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in employment counseling, with a focus on statutory and regulatory compliance, executive employment agreements, separation agreements, and employment-related aspects of M&A transactions. Litigation experience is a plus. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and provides ample room for professional growth.

Duties

  • Provide legal counsel on employment and labor issues, focusing on statutory and regulatory compliance.
  • Advise on executive employment and separation agreements.
  • Handle the employment aspects of M&A transactions.
  • Assist with litigation matters related to employment law (litigation experience is a plus).
  • Work collaboratively with the employment and labor practice team to provide timely and effective advice to clients.
  • Conduct research, draft legal documents, and represent clients in employment-related matters.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in employment counseling, particularly with regulatory compliance, executive agreements, and M&A.
  • Some litigation experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong academic background and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic performance.

Certifications

  • Admission to the State Bar (D.C. preferred or Virginia).

Skills

  • Expertise in employment law, including statutory compliance and executive agreements.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage complex legal issues.
