Architects and Engineers Associate Attorney

A law firm in Chicago, IL is seeking an Architects and Engineers Associate Attorney with 5+ years of litigation experience to join its team. The role involves defending architects and engineers against claims of professional malpractice, requiring expertise in construction law and strong organizational and writing skills.

Duties:

• Defend architects and engineers in litigation involving claims of professional malpractice.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Manage a varied caseload efficiently and effectively.
• Communicate complex legal issues clearly and persuasively to the court, clients, and opposing counsel.
• Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and experts in the field of architecture and engineering.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of Illinois in good standing.
• 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably with a focus on construction law or professional malpractice defense.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft persuasive legal documents.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
