The role involves defending architects and engineers against claims of professional malpractice, requiring expertise in construction law and strong organizational and writing skills.

Duties:

  • Defend architects and engineers in litigation involving claims of professional malpractice.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Manage a varied caseload efficiently and effectively.
  • Communicate complex legal issues clearly and persuasively to the court, clients, and opposing counsel.
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and experts in the field of architecture and engineering.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Illinois in good standing.
  • 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably with a focus on construction law or professional malpractice defense.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft persuasive legal documents.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
