Mid-level Associate Attorney

A law firm in New York City is seeking a Mid-level Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of defense litigation experience, particularly in New York State Labor Law. The ideal candidate will have a strong litigation background and experience in areas such as general liability, premises liability, construction, hospitality, Dram Shop, wrongful death, and transportation.

Duties:

• Interact with clients to provide legal advice and updates on case progress.
• Draft pleadings, discovery demands, and dispositive motions.
• Conduct depositions of witnesses and experts.
• Perform legal research on relevant case law and statutes.
• Represent clients in court proceedings and hearings.
• Collaborate with team members on case strategy and development.
• Maintain accurate time records for billing purposes.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of defense litigation experience, specifically in New York State Labor Law.
• Strong litigation background with experience in general liability, premises liability, construction, hospitality, Dram Shop, wrongful death, and transportation.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• Substantive familiarity with the rules and procedures of the New York Courts.
• Licensed to practice in New York.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the New York Bar.
