Job Overview

A reputable law firm is seeking a Connecticut-barred litigation attorney to join their dynamic team in a hybrid position based in New York. The firm specializes in insurance defense litigation, providing services across various fields, including professional liability, labor and employment, medical malpractice, casualty, construction defect, and coverage. Duties

  • Represent clients in all phases of litigation, from initiation to expert discovery and trial.
  • Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
  • Conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations.
  • Draft legal documents, including discovery requests and responses, motions, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
  • Review discovery responses, depositions, and prepare litigation update reports.
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel.
  • Provide clients with legal analysis, status updates, and strategic advice throughout litigation.

Requirements

  • Bar admission in Connecticut.
  • Civil litigation experience, including drafting discovery, leading depositions, and arguing motions.
  • Knowledge of federal and state rules of civil procedure.
  • Strong organizational and writing skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Lexis software.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Connecticut Bar.
