Job Overview

A well-established law firm is seeking a mid-level Finance Associate to join its Private Equity Finance team. This role involves working on private credit, acquisition finance, and leveraged finance transactions, primarily on the borrower side. Ideal candidates will have experience representing private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers, and a background in high-volume mid-cap and top-tier transactions.

Duties

• Represent clients in private credit, acquisition finance, and leveraged finance transactions.
• Advise private equity sponsors, corporate borrowers, and portfolio companies on financing structures.
• Manage mid-cap and top-tier financing transactions from start to finish.
• Collaborate with colleagues in a dynamic and collegial team setting.
• Handle sensitive financial and proprietary information with confidentiality.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in private credit, acquisition finance, or leveraged finance.
• Background in borrower-side representation, with a preference for experience involving private equity sponsors.
• Familiarity with general company-side representation is advantageous.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the relevant state bar or eligibility for admission in the office location.

Skills

• Strong understanding of private equity finance, particularly borrower-side representation.
• Excellent transactional skills with an ability to handle complex finance structures.
• Proficient in managing multiple high-stakes transactions simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
