Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Guardianship Attorney with 1 to 5 years of experience. The role involves handling guardianship and conservatorship matters, advising clients on guardianship responsibilities, and representing them in contested cases. Duties:

  • Assist clients in establishing and administering guardianships and conservatorships for minors and incapacitated adults
  • Prepare and file petitions, reports, and accountings for judicial approval and compliance
  • Advise clients on guardianship responsibilities, fiduciary duties, and statutory requirements
  • Provide legal guidance on alternatives to guardianship such as powers of attorney and trusts
  • Assist clients with planning for incapacity and special needs care
  • Structure guardianship plans covering financial management, healthcare decisions, and living arrangements
  • Represent clients in contested guardianship cases, including disputes over capacity, fitness of guardians, and fiduciary actions
  • Negotiate settlements and resolve conflicts through mediation and arbitration
  • Draft and review petitions, orders, annual reports, and care plans
  • Prepare legal correspondence, motions, and settlement agreements
  • Ensure accuracy and thoroughness in all legal documentation

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Nevada
  • Strong knowledge of Nevada guardianship law and procedures
  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and research skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively

Education:

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • License to practice law in Nevada

Skills:
