Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel on state and federal privacy laws
  • Conduct due diligence for M&A, financings, and commercial transactions
  • Advise clients on cybersecurity, data privacy, and AI-related issues
  • Handle class action litigation and regulatory defense matters
  • Lead incident response efforts and advise clients on data breach investigations
  • Draft and review legal documents, including motions, complaints, and discovery requests
  • Represent clients in regulatory investigations and defense actions
  • Support compliance with global data protection laws, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and others
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and client communications
  • Assist in litigation involving data privacy, AI, and cybersecurity across multiple jurisdictions

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience in privacy, cybersecurity, and AI law
  • Hands-on experience with advising clients on state and federal privacy laws
  • Experience in M&A due diligence and commercial transactions
  • Knowledge of global regulatory frameworks, including AI/ML, biometrics, and data protection laws
  • Prior experience with incident response and defending data breach investigations
  • Experience with class action litigation and/or regulatory defense is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with key laws such as CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA, SCA, and others
  • Large law firm experience is strongly preferred

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction

Skills

  • Strong analytical and legal research skills
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating complex legal documents
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with data-driven technologies, including AI/ML and biometrics
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients
