A law firm seeks a dedicated and motivated Labor and Employment Associate to join its team in Austin, TX. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for a mid-senior level associate to work on complex labor and employment law matters, with a focus on class action litigation. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in both employment law and class action litigation, along with a strong desire for trial work. Duties:

  • Handle a variety of labor and employment matters, including employment discrimination, wage and hour claims, and EEOC/DOL investigations.
  • Represent clients in class action lawsuits related to labor and employment issues.
  • Counsel employers on compliance with federal and state employment laws, providing guidance on workplace policies and employee relations.
  • Assist clients in navigating complex employment law matters, from day-to-day issues to high-stakes litigation.
  • Draft and review workplace policies, employee handbooks, and other legal documents to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in trial preparation, legal research, and the drafting of motions and briefs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategies and deliver high-quality legal services.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, providing updates and advice as needed.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on employment-related and class-action litigation.
  • Experience defending employment discrimination, wage and hour claims, and EEOC/DOL investigations.
  • Strong background in counseling employers on employment law compliance and workplace policies.
  • Desire and ability to take on trial work and manage complex litigation matters.
  • Superior legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • TX Bar admission required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Texas State Bar is required.
