Job Overview:
A law firm based in Norman, OK, is seeking a skilled Family Law Attorney to join its practice group. The firm handles a wide range of family law cases across central and southern Oklahoma. The ideal candidate will have prior family law experience and the ability to work collaboratively within a team of attorneys and staff. This position offers an opportunity to handle diverse family law matters, including divorce, child custody, juvenile deprived cases, and select probate and civil litigation matters.

Location:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in various family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and juvenile deprived cases.
  • Provide legal counsel and representation in probate and select civil litigation cases, as needed.
  • Draft legal documents such as petitions, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Appear in court for hearings, motions, and trials related to family law matters.
  • Collaborate with other family law attorneys and staff to manage case load and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant family law statutes, regulations, and case law.
  • Manage case files and communicate regularly with clients regarding case progress.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in family law, including handling divorce, child custody, and juvenile cases.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Must be a licensed attorney in the state of Oklahoma.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Oklahoma Bar membership in good standing.

Skills:

  • Strong family law litigation and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.
