Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Honolulu, HI, is seeking a diligent and motivated Associate Attorney to manage a caseload of litigation and collection matters. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate exceptional analytical and advocacy skills, and work effectively on escalated and time-sensitive cases.

Duties:

  • Oversee breach of contract and collection litigation cases from initial demand to final judgment.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, both in person and via teleconference.
  • Draft and argue Motions for Summary Judgment.
  • Ensure timely and accurate management of assigned caseload to meet client expectations.
  • Address and resolve escalated and urgent legal matters as needed.
  • Participate in additional legal tasks and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Admission to practice law in California.
  • Experience with the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) and Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) is advantageous.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership and good standing in the State Bar of California.

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional research abilities utilizing both legal and non-legal sources.
  • Proficiency in legal software and standard office tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective caseload management and prioritization.
