A national creditor's rights law firm in Boca Raton is seeking a Bankruptcy Attorney with experience in consumer Chapter 7, 11, and 13 cases. This remote position offers the opportunity to manage bankruptcy matters and represent clients across a variety of proceedings. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in bankruptcy law, but candidates with less experience who demonstrate a strong team-oriented approach and willingness to learn will also be considered. A license to practice law in New York is required.

Duties:

  • Manage routine bankruptcy matters, including consumer Chapter 7, 11, and 13 cases.
  • Draft and review pleadings, claims, and motions related to bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Attend and represent clients at scheduled hearings.
  • Monitor electronic filings (ECFs) and handle routine bankruptcy issues such as Motions for Relief, Objections to Confirmation, and Proofs of Claim.
  • Respond to bankruptcy-related inquiries from clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and courts to ensure timely resolution of cases.
  • Review and assess filings on behalf of clients to ensure compliance with bankruptcy laws.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in bankruptcy law, with knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code and Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and time management abilities.
  • Familiarity with creditor rights laws (preferred).
  • Proficiency in computer literacy and legal research tools.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of New York.
  • Admission to District and/or Bankruptcy Courts in New York is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of bankruptcy laws and creditor rights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a large caseload.
  • Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and electronic filing systems.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with attention to detail and professionalism.
