Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a qualified Associate Attorney for a law firm specializing in consumer debt defense. The attorney will manage a caseload of collection defense cases, representing clients facing financial challenges and overseeing litigation strategy. This role includes pursuing claims for consumer protection law violations and managing a team of support staff. This position is fully remote and open to candidates residing in any state, with a preference for those licensed in multiple states.

Location:

  • Enid, OK 

Duties:

  • Provide legal representation to clients with debt-related challenges
  • Analyze client situations, review documentation, and present legal options
  • Represent clients in court, including drafting pleadings and attending hearings or trials as needed
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring consistent communication
  • Oversee collection and organization of client documents for case preparation
  • Conduct and manage settlement negotiations, adjusting strategies based on settlement trends
  • Address any post-settlement issues
  • Manage and supervise a team of legal support staff, including paralegals and legal assistants
  • Identify unfair debt collection practices and file appropriate claims
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by senior attorneys

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience (preferred)
  • Active license to practice law in California, with additional state licenses preferred
  • Good standing in all states where licensed
  • Must pass a criminal background check

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree

Certifications:

  • Active California Bar license (required)
  • Additional state licenses (preferred)
