Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a dedicated and highly motivated Associate Attorney to join its expanding legal team in Westwood, KS. This role focuses on creditor rights, landlord-tenant matters, and real estate law. Duties:

  • Represent clients in legal proceedings related to creditor rights, landlord-tenant disputes, and real estate matters.

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, contracts, and other legal documents.

  • Advise clients on legal rights, responsibilities, and potential outcomes.

  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, mediations, and negotiations.

  • Manage a caseload effectively while ensuring timely filings and responses.

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies.

  • Maintain client relationships through effective communication and case updates.

  • Stay updated on relevant state and federal laws impacting the firm's practice areas.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing law, preferably in creditor rights, landlord-tenant law, or real estate.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Comfort with making court appearances and representing clients confidently.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Missouri and Kansas (or eligibility for licensure in both states).
