Senior Insurance Defense Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated attorney with a minimum of 7 years in insurance defense to join its Texas team. This position requires handling civil litigation cases through trial, with a primary focus on bodily injury defense, construction, and various insurance defense matters. The attorney will work both independently and as part of a team to provide high-quality legal representation and meet client needs.

Duties

• Manage civil litigation cases from inception through trial.
• Represent clients in bodily injury defense, construction, and other insurance defense matters.
• Conduct depositions, attend oral arguments and hearings, and negotiate settlements.
• Provide comprehensive reporting and legal counsel to clients.
• Collaborate with the legal team to ensure a thorough defense strategy.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal trends and case law.
• Achieve client objectives efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation (preferred).
• Proven ability to manage complex civil cases through trial.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work remotely while maintaining high standards of legal performance.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active and in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
• Additional licensure in other states is a plus.
