Job Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a diverse caseload, providing legal counsel to clients, and representing individuals in various immigration matters, including removal proceedings and family-based petitions. Duties:

• Provide strategic immigration advice to clients and explain complex legal concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
• Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals, both for detained and non-detained individuals.
• Manage a substantial caseload, ensuring timely progress and attention to detail.
• Conduct client intake sessions, particularly with detained individuals, and provide legal guidance on available options.
• Prepare, review, and submit various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
• Work with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations to address changes in immigration law and policy.
• Meet with potential clients to assess their immigration cases and provide strategic guidance.
• Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings or USCIS testimony.
• Draft legal briefs, motions, and other documents to support immigration cases.
• Offer legal analysis to identify potential case benefits and opportunities for clients.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in Immigration Law.
• Proven track record of successfully handling and moving cases forward.
• Ability to manage a diverse and complex caseload.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a legal team.
• Experience in removal defense, family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR proceedings, detained cases, citizenship applications, and other USCIS matters.
• Experience with case management software is preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to CA State Bar (any U.S. state).

Certifications:

• Active CA  Bar membership in good standing.

Skills:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of immigration case management systems and software is a plus.
• Excellent client relationship management skills.
