Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a Connecticut-licensed litigation attorney for a hybrid role based in Tarrytown, NY. The position involves representing clients across various stages of litigation, from initial filings to expert discovery and trial. Ideal candidates will have experience in General Liability and/or Professional Liability matters, with a strong knowledge of civil procedure rules in both state and federal courts.

Duties:

• Represent clients through all phases of litigation, including initiation, discovery, and trial.
• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct in-depth legal research and discovery investigations.
• Draft and review discovery requests, responses, motions, case evaluations, court orders, affidavits, settlement agreements, and legal memoranda.
• Summarize depositions and discovery responses; prepare litigation update reports.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing legal analysis, advice, and status updates throughout the litigation process.

Requirements:

• Civil litigation experience.
• Licensed to practice law in Connecticut.
• Proven experience in drafting discovery documents, leading depositions, and arguing motions.
• Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with Lexis software.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in Connecticut is required.
