Associate Attorney needed for New York City office

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to handle international arbitration matters and cross-border litigation in New York. The role involves extensive legal research, drafting pleadings, and active participation in hearings.

Location:

• New York, NY

Duties:

• Manage and litigate international arbitration and cross-border litigation matters
• Conduct legal research in international commercial and investment arbitration
• Interview witnesses for case preparation
• Draft pleadings for international arbitrations
• Handle ad-hoc arbitrations
• Assist with jurisdictional and merit hearings
• Engage in discovery practice, including e-discovery
• Attend hearings and trials to support partners and senior associates

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Master of Laws (L.L.M.) degree
• 2 years of related experience as an Associate
• Experience drafting pleadings for international arbitrations
• Familiarity with civil law systems, particularly in Latin America
• Proficiency in cross-examining witnesses and delivering oral arguments
• Strong research skills in complex legal matters
• License to practice law in New York
• 10%-20% domestic and international travel required

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Master of Laws (L.L.M.)

Certifications:

• New York State Bar License
