The successful candidate will leverage a strong technical background in molecular biology, microbiology, immunology, or biochemistry to draft and prosecute patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). This role involves managing complex patent prosecution tasks and supporting due diligence efforts while working effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Support due diligence activities related to patent prosecution and intellectual property.
  • Analyze scientific and technical documents to prepare accurate patent filings.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to collect necessary information and resolve issues related to patent applications.
  • Ensure compliance with all USPTO regulations and procedural requirements.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple assignments and deadlines from various partners and clients.
  • Provide technical expertise in patent strategy, portfolio management, and related matters.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in molecular biology, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Registration to practice before the USPTO.
  • Patent Bar eligibility; state bar licensure is advantageous but not required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in patent prosecution, demonstrating the ability to protect technology effectively.
  • Strong time management skills, with the capacity to handle multiple deadlines and client-driven assignments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, writing skills, and analytical abilities.

Education:

  • Master’s Degree or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in molecular biology, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, or a related field.

Certifications:

  • Registration to practice before the USPTO.
  • Patent Bar eligibility.
  • State Bar licensure (if applicable).
