Job Title: Civil Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A prominent law firm located in Jacksonville, FL, is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join its General Liability Team. This role is ideal for legal professionals with a background in civil litigation and insurance defense, looking to advance their career in a dynamic and challenging environment. The candidate will handle a wide array of legal matters involving civil claims, including medical negligence, premises liability, and product liability, among others.

Duties:

• Manage case files from inception through trial or settlement.
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare legal documents including memoranda, pleadings, and progress reports.
• Engage in discovery processes including review of medical records, depositions, and interrogatories.
• Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Perform factual investigations and reporting of findings.
• Review and summarize medical records to develop case chronologies.
• Collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, and legal staff to ensure comprehensive case management.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably within insurance defense.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to client representation and case success.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership and in good standing with the Florida Bar.

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and analysis.
• Excellent time management and multitasking capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail in case preparation and documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
• Prior experience with insurance defense litigation is highly preferred.
