A law firm in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Patent Agent/Technical Advisor to primarily focus on preparing and prosecuting patent applications. The ideal candidate will also provide technological guidance to attorneys, counsel clients on IP strategy, and manage IP portfolios.

 

Duties:

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications filed with the USPTO and foreign patent offices.
  • Provide technological guidance to attorneys in documenting inventions.
  • Counsel clients on comprehensive IP strategy, prior art analysis, and IP portfolio management.
  • Assist with foreign patent applications.
  • Independently multi-task under deadlines, efficiently manage firm resources, and prioritize and manage case assignments.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (advanced degree preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in patent prosecution.
  • Registration to practice before the USPTO is a plus.
  • Some organic chemistry experience preferred.
  • Industry experience is preferred.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task independently.
  • Efficient resource management and delegation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with specialized software and online programs.

 

Education/Certifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (advanced degree preferred).
