Job Overview: A prominent law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking an experienced Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney to join their team. This role focuses on providing comprehensive legal services in the areas of estate planning, asset protection, and trust and estate settlement. Ideal candidates will have expertise in complex estate planning and tax matters, with an emphasis on delivering high-quality service to clients.

Duties:

  • Handle complex estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and families
  • Develop asset protection strategies to safeguard clients’ wealth
  • Administer trusts and estates, including settling estates and distributing assets
  • Prepare and review transfer tax returns related to estates and trusts
  • Collaborate with clients on international estate planning matters (a plus)
  • Provide legal counsel and solutions in compliance with estate tax laws and regulations
  • Support and guide clients through the probate process
  • Stay current on changes in trust and estate law, particularly those affecting tax policies

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in trusts and estates law
  • Strong background in complex estate planning, asset protection, and tax law
  • Experience in trust and estate settlement
  • Familiarity with transfer tax return preparation
  • International estate planning experience is advantageous

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • LL.M. in Taxation is required

Certifications:

  • Must be an active member of The Florida Bar

Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of trust and estate law, particularly in tax matters
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for client interaction
