Associate Attorney Labor & Employment Law

Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a detail-oriented and proactive Associate Attorney to join their Labor & Employment Law team in Fergus Falls, MN. This role offers the opportunity to provide legal support to public entities such as schools, cities, and counties on a variety of labor and employment matters. The position involves handling employment litigation, collective bargaining, workplace investigations, labor negotiations, and more. Duties:

• Consult with clients to understand the specifics and merits of each case.
• Conduct legal research using legislation, case law, and other legal resources to develop case strategies.
• Draft legal documents, including contracts, reports, and appeals.
• Represent clients at meetings, hearings, and legal proceedings.
• Stay updated on relevant legislation and legal developments affecting labor and employment law.
• Handle complex labor and employment matters, including collective bargaining agreements, workplace misconduct, and employee separations.
• Provide human resources support and guidance to public entities on employment issues.
• Perform other legal tasks as assigned by partners.

Requirements:

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently while also collaborating within a team.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a solid understanding of labor and employment law.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Minnesota, or the ability to obtain licensure promptly.

• Proficient in legal research, writing, and drafting.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex legal documents.
• Exceptional interpersonal and client communication skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines effectively.

Job Location:
