A law firm seeks a Junior to Midlevel Associate Attorney to join its prestigious Environment, Energy, and Resources practice group in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have two to four years of experience working with the Clean Air Act (CAA) and a strong passion for environmental law. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact matters that shape energy and environmental policies. Duties:

  • Represent clients in matters related to environmental law, focusing on compliance with the Clean Air Act (CAA).
  • Provide legal counsel on energy and environmental regulations, assisting clients in navigating complex federal and state laws.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including regulatory filings, motions, and briefs, ensuring clear and concise communication of legal arguments.
  • Participate in environmental litigation, including advocacy before regulatory agencies, courts, and other governmental bodies.
  • Assist clients in assessing environmental risks and compliance issues and develop strategies to mitigate legal exposure.
  • Stay updated on the latest environmental regulations, policies, and case law to provide effective counsel to clients.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to strategize, prepare for hearings, and represent clients in government proceedings.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing exceptional client service and delivering high-quality legal support.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in environmental law, with a focus on the Clean Air Act (CAA).
  • Strong experience in legal writing, research, and advocacy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with an ability to present complex legal concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Prior federal judicial clerkship experience is a plus but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the bar (Washington, D.C. preferred but not required).

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of the Clean Air Act (CAA) and related environmental regulations.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and analysis skills.
  • Ability to manage complex legal matters and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Experience in environmental litigation and regulatory matters.
