A law firm seeks a self-motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join its team in Manassas, VA. This full-time position focuses on family law and domestic relations, offering an excellent opportunity to work with a supportive team while handling a caseload that involves litigation, negotiation, and dispute resolution. The ideal candidate will be proactive, able to manage client relationships, and passionate about providing top-tier legal support in family law matters. Travel to various courts across Northern Virginia is required.

Duties

  • Provide legal support to clients, assisting senior attorneys in managing family law and domestic relations cases
  • Draft legal documents, including agreements, motions, and pleadings
  • Represent clients in court hearings and proceedings in Northern Virginia courts, including Fairfax, Prince William, Loudoun, and Fauquier counties
  • Maintain and build client relationships, offering exceptional customer service and communication
  • Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy
  • Negotiate settlements and assist clients in resolving legal disputes
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff members to ensure efficient case management
  • Stay informed on developments in family law and domestic relations to provide accurate legal advice

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active and in good standing with the Virginia State Bar
  • 1-3 years of experience in family law or related practice areas preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Westlaw and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines
  • A keen interest in family law and domestic relations matters

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active Virginia State Bar license
