Job Overview: A well-established, full-service law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Law Associate with 2-4 years of management-side labor and employment experience to join its Employment Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advising clients on a variety of employment law matters, including EEO issues, wage and hour laws, compliance with leave laws, and reasonable accommodations. Experience with workplace investigations and training is a plus. This role offers the opportunity to handle diverse legal matters, conduct legal research, and provide strategic counsel to clients, all while staying current on evolving employment law trends.

Location:

  • Baltimore, MD

Duties:

  • Advise clients on federal, state, and local employment law matters, including EEO issues, wage and hour law, leave laws, and reasonable accommodations.
  • Respond to claims filed with federal, state, and local agencies and courts.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and assist with training on employment law topics.
  • Draft position statements, court filings, and other legal documents.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients on employment-related compliance issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with trends and developments in employment law.
  • Maintain significant client interaction and develop business relationships.
  • Assume ownership of assignments and take responsibility for managing client matters.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in management-side labor and employment law.
  • Experience advising clients on EEO issues, wage and hour laws, leave laws, and reasonable accommodations.
  • Proven ability to handle claims and litigation before federal, state, and local agencies and courts.
  • Experience with workplace investigations and training is a plus.
  • Strong client interaction skills with the ability to manage relationships and generate business.

Education:

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to the bar and in good standing in the state of Maryland (or ability to waive in).

Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to draft and review legal documents with attention to detail.
  • Aptitude for business generation and client development.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and clients effectively.
