Junior to Mid-level Labor & Employment Associate

A law firm seeks a junior to midlevel associate to join its Labor and Employment practice in the Costa Mesa, CA office. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in a large law firm setting and will be adept at handling various labor and employment matters, including litigation, class/PAGA actions, and employment counseling. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic, collaborative team offering exposure to complex and impactful cases.

Duties:

• Manage employment law cases, including both single-plaintiff and class/PAGA actions
• Handle fact investigations and provide legal analysis for various employment-related matters
• Advise clients on employment law issues, offering strategic and preventative counsel
• Prepare and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
• Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and mediations
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop case strategies
• Stay up-to-date with evolving employment laws and regulations
• Support the firm's employment law initiatives and contribute to team efforts

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of experience in labor and employment law from a reputable firm
• Strong background in litigation, particularly class action and individual employment cases
• Proficiency in legal research and writing
• Ability to manage multiple matters with attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Effective communication and client management abilities
• Active membership in the California State Bar

Education:

• J.D. from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar is required

• Experience in employment law litigation, including class actions and PAGA claims
