A law firm in San Diego, CA is seeking a Junior Digital Health Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience in healthcare law, focusing on regulatory compliance. This role offers the opportunity to exclusively represent digital health companies, including startups and founder-led ventures, from pre-formation to capital markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in healthcare technology, federal and state regulatory compliance, corporate practice of medicine, reimbursement strategies, and fraud and abuse advising.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to digital health clients on regulatory compliance issues, including HIPAA, Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and False Claims Act.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts, agreements, and policies related to digital health technology, including licensing agreements and vendor contracts.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on federal and state healthcare regulations impacting digital health companies.
  • Advise on corporate governance matters, including entity formation, equity financings, and mergers & acquisitions within the digital health sector.
  • Assist clients with navigating reimbursement issues with federal, commercial, and self-insured payors.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address legal, regulatory, and operational challenges faced by digital health companies.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure exceptional client service and support.

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California Bar (or ability to waive in).
  • 2-4 years of experience practicing healthcare law with a focus on regulatory compliance.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state healthcare regulations relevant to digital health.
  • Experience advising on corporate practice of medicine and multi-state regulatory considerations.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with a meticulous eye for detail.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal issues clearly and effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good business judgment and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.
