Job Overview

A leading litigation firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Bad Faith Attorney to join its team in a fully remote capacity, with a strong preference for candidates based in California. This role involves representing policyholders in complex insurance litigation matters, including wrongful claim denials and bad faith practices. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of experience in insurance litigation and a strong commitment to client advocacy.

Duties

• Manage insurance bad faith and coverage dispute cases from initiation through resolution

• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions (including dispositive and discovery motions), and legal correspondence

• Conduct legal research and formulate litigation strategy

• Take and defend depositions, including those of insurance company representatives and key witnesses

• Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, negotiations, and court proceedings

• Analyze insurance policies to assess coverage issues and develop case arguments

• Collaborate with legal team members on complex case matters

Requirements

• 5–10 years of litigation experience with a focus on insurance bad faith, coverage disputes, or related insurance matters

• Experience in a plaintiff or defense insurance litigation practice

• Strong writing and research skills, particularly for complex motions

• Ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision

• Willingness to travel when necessary

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of California (required)
