A law firm seeks a seasoned and dynamic Personal Injury Attorney to join their team in Springfield, IL. This full-time role offers the potential for remote work or an additional office location. The firm is looking for someone who can handle auto accident personal injury and workers' compensation cases from start to finish while working within a collaborative and respectful environment. Duties:

  • Manage personal injury and workers' compensation cases from initial evaluation to final resolution.
  • Provide legal advice to clients regarding the merits of their personal injury claims.
  • Draft, review, and amend legal documents such as claims, motions, pleadings, discovery responses, subpoenas, and demand letters.
  • Conduct case law research and collect evidence, including medical records, insurance policies, and medical expenses.
  • Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and other involved parties to gather necessary information.
  • Negotiate settlements and favorable agreements for clients.
  • Represent clients in hearings, trials, mediations, depositions, and other litigation proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files in the firm's management system.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Illinois State Bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience handling personal injury and/or workers' compensation cases.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills, demonstrating compassion and clarity.
  • Experience in depositions, hearings, and mediation processes.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Illinois state bar membership.

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research and writing abilities.
  • Strong case management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate and communicate with clients and opposing parties.
  • Experience in litigation, including depositions, hearings, and trial representation.
