A law firm in Providence, RI, is seeking a dedicated Workers’ Compensation Attorney to join their team. This role involves managing a litigation-intensive caseload and providing invaluable experience to a newly barred attorney interested in civil litigation and deposition practice.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of Workers’ Compensation claims from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and provide legal opinions on liability, damages, and strategy.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, and other legal documents.
  • Attend hearings, trials, mediations, and depositions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the Rhode Island State Bar, or eligibility for admission based on sufficient UBE score to practice in the jurisdiction.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in Workers’ Compensation law or related field.
  • Strong academic record with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Moot Court or trial advocacy experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Rhode Island State Bar, or eligibility to be admitted based on UBE score.

Skills:
