A law firm in New York City, NY is seeking a Junior Associate Attorney to join their Adult Sexual Abuse department. The ideal candidate will assist in managing a large docket of cases, requiring strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capability to handle legal documents, conduct research, and correspond professionally with courts and opposing counsel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coordination and management of a substantial caseload in the Adult Sexual Abuse department.
  • Prepare legal documents such as motions, complaints, and discovery responses.
  • Conduct thorough legal research on case-specific issues.
  • Review medical records and other pertinent documents.
  • Represent clients in court appearances and proceedings.
  • Maintain regular and professional communication with clients via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
  • Draft correspondence to courts, opposing counsel, and clients.
  • Support senior attorneys in case strategy development and implementation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar or pending imminent admission.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research, writing motions, and drafting legal documents.
  • Comfortable appearing in court and representing clients in legal proceedings.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to or pending imminent admission to the New York State Bar.

Skills:

  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
