Immigration Attorney

A well-established and growing law firm in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a highly motivated Immigration Attorney to join its team. The successful candidate will manage a caseload, engage with clients, and collaborate with a team of immigration law professionals. Location:

Duties:

• Explain immigration concepts and develop strategic solutions for clients.
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a variety of immigration cases, ensuring timely and effective progress.
• Conduct client intakes with detained individuals at detention centers.
• Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Review and make necessary adjustments to immigration applications and packets.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law updates.
• Meet with potential clients to discuss immigration strategies and provide consultations.
• Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
• Provide legal analysis to clients regarding potential benefits of their cases.
• Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration-related matters.

Requirements:

• At least 1 to 4 years of experience in immigration law.
• Strong team player, willing to collaborate and strategize with colleagues.
• Preferably bilingual (English/Spanish).
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse client populations.
• Proven track record of managing caseloads and moving legal cases forward.
• Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained cases, citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
• Familiarity with case management software is preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bar in the jurisdiction of practice.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the state bar.
