Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Finance/Structured Finance Associate Attorney to join its team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in corporate and structured finance, demonstrating substantial experience with a variety of financial institutions and complex transactions. This role involves leading and managing significant portions of financing transactions and providing expert legal guidance in structured finance, fund finance, and CLOs.

Duties:

  • Lead and manage complex financing transactions, including structured finance, fund finance, and CLOs.
  • Provide legal advice and draft key documents for transactions involving bank and non-bank financial institutions, credit funds, and asset managers.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to strategize and execute financial transactions effectively.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence and risk assessment for various financial deals.
  • Review and negotiate financing agreements and other transaction-related documents.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and legal developments relevant to finance and structured finance.
  • Manage client relationships and deliver high-quality legal services promptly.
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of substantive experience in corporate and/or structured finance.
  • Proven experience working with a broad spectrum of financial institutions, credit funds, and asset managers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead significant portions of complex financing transactions.
  • Strong deal experience at a large law firm.
  • Admitted to the Illinois State Bar.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Illinois State Bar.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of structured finance, fund finance, and CLOs.
  • Strong understanding of financing transactions and legal documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
