Employment Law Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A growing law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Law Associate Attorney with 15+ years of litigation and defense experience to join its Employment Law Department. The ideal candidate will have expertise in school district defense, along with knowledge of class/PAGA claims. Trial experience is preferred but not required. Location:

Duties:

• Manage a wide range of employment law litigation and defense cases, with a focus on school district defense.
• Handle all aspects of case management, from initial filing to resolution.
• Represent clients in court proceedings and trials (trial experience preferred).
• Advise clients on various employment-related legal matters.
• Negotiate settlements and manage class/PAGA claims.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
• Collaborate with other attorneys to develop and execute case strategies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations while providing proactive legal counsel.

Requirements:

• 15+ years of experience in employment law, particularly in litigation and defense.
• Strong background in school district defense.
• Trial experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of class actions and PAGA claims is a must.
• Experience with public entity defense is a plus.
• Superior legal research, analytical, and negotiating skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong ability to handle complex cases independently and as part of a team.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
