Duties:

  • Represent clients in workers' compensation matters, handling cases from initiation to resolution.
  • Manage a caseload of workers' compensation cases, ensuring timely and effective case progress.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and management to keep all parties informed of case developments.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery requests.
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, and other litigation activities.
  • Maintain accurate records for billing purposes and meet billable hour expectations.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys to develop strategies and assist in case management.
  • Advise clients on workers' compensation laws, regulations, and potential legal options.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in workers' compensation law or related civil litigation.
  • Must be admitted to the Maryland State Bar. Admission to the D.C. Bar is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a high caseload effectively while ensuring excellent client service.
  • Proven ability to meet billable hour requirements and work efficiently.
  • Client-focused with strong interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach to legal research and case preparation.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic performance and legal research abilities.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Maryland State Bar is required.
  • Admission to the D.C. Bar is a plus but not required.
