A law firm is seeking a Senior Partner-level Litigation Attorney in Charlotte, N.C. The Senior Partner-level Litigation Attorney will be responsible for handling cases from inception through trial, including drafting discovery pleadings and motions, taking and defending depositions, and participating in all aspects of the firm’s professional activities. The candidate should possess strong advocacy skills, a proven track record of academic achievement, and significant courtroom experience.

 

Duties:

  • Handle cases from inception through trial, including drafting discovery pleadings and motions, and taking and defending depositions.
  • Participate in all aspects of the firm’s professional activities, including client intake, trial preparation, etc.
  • Formulate and develop case strategy, advise clients on risk mitigation and pre-suit resolution options.
  • Conduct research, interviews clients and witnesses, and handle other details for comprehensive case management.
  • Manage the discovery process and supervise junior attorneys and staff members with document review projects.
  • Perform complex legal research using tools such as Westlaw.
  • Mediation and AAA and other arbitration experience is preferable.
  • First or second chair trial experience preferable.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis.

 

Requirements:

  • A portable book of business with $200,000.
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills.
  • Strong record of academic achievement and proven writing skills.
  • Licensed to practice and in good standing in Tennessee.
  • 8+ years of litigation experience in state and federal courts.
  • Bachelor’s degree and J.D. Degree.
  • Knowledge of state and federal court procedures.
  • Significant courtroom experience.
  • Ability to handle litigation matters with minimal supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Organization and time management skills.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • J.D. Degree.
  • Licensed to practice and in good standing in Tennessee.
