Job Overview
A law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Discovery Attorney to join its eDiscovery team. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of experience supporting case teams and clients across all discovery phases of litigation, from preservation to production, and beyond. The role involves collaborating with a diverse team to manage case-specific workflows and protocols for eDiscovery, ensuring risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility. The candidate will also oversee and ensure the quality of work delivered by other attorneys, project teams, and service providers.

Duties

  • Advise and support case teams and clients throughout all discovery phases, including preservation, processing, review, and production.
  • Assist with pre-litigation information governance, post-production deposition/witness preparation, and trial preparation as necessary.
  • Develop and manage eDiscovery workflows and protocols with a focus on cost-efficiency and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, technologists, and clients to ensure effective and defensible eDiscovery strategies.
  • Oversee the work of eDiscovery attorneys, project attorneys, and service providers to ensure high-quality and efficient deliverables.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in eDiscovery and litigation support.
  • Must be licensed and in good standing in the state of practice.
  • Strong in-depth knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Expertise in managing discovery in complex litigation and compliance matters.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Preferred: eDiscovery-related certifications (e.g., Relativity Certified Pro, Certified E-Discovery Specialist).

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, especially in the context of corporate messaging, collaboration, and productivity tools.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Relativity (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality control and risk management.
