Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Workers' Compensation practice group. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely or from one of the firm’s Pennsylvania offices. Ideal candidates will possess strong writing, research, and litigation skills, with a commitment to providing exceptional legal representation in workers' compensation cases.

Location:

  • Scranton, PA

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough file review and legal analysis of workers' compensation claims.
  • Engage in extensive legal research and drafting of client correspondence, discovery materials, and legal briefs.
  • Meet an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.
  • Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and trials before the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Board.
  • Prepare for trials and manage expert witness retention and evaluations.
  • Draft appeals and appellate briefs as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in workers' compensation law.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar (additional state bar admissions are a plus but not required).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent legal research and writing capabilities.
  • Effective oral communication skills for client interactions and courtroom representation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Prompt responsiveness to client and colleague communications.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar is required.
