A reputable law firm in Fort Lauderdale, FL, seeks a seasoned Insurance Coverage Litigation Attorney to join its Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience in commercial insurance coverage disputes and will possess the expertise to manage complex commercial litigation from inception to resolution. This role requires strong legal knowledge, analytical skills, and a commitment to client service in a high-stakes legal environment.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support insurance litigation cases.
  • Draft a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and evaluations, ensuring high standards of accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Represent clients in depositions, mediations, court appearances, and arbitrations.
  • Maintain and manage a varied caseload, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with senior partners on intricate litigation matters.
  • Communicate directly and clearly with clients, judges, opposing counsel, mediators, and other involved parties.
  • Participate in strategic planning and case evaluation discussions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in insurance coverage litigation.
  • Proven experience with complex commercial litigation and insurance coverage disputes.
  • Direct experience with various types of insurance coverage, including commercial general liability, pollution liability, marine, directors and officers, professional liability, and errors and omissions.
  • Ability to draft and review coverage evaluations and reservation of rights letters.
  • Demonstrated client communication skills, especially regarding coverage issues and positions.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, with a strong academic background.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Florida State Bar.
